What is Biodiesel ?

The idea of using plant matter to run an internal combustion engine is as old as the mineral oil based fuels we now use everyday. In fact Rudolf Diesel, demonstrated his first engine at the Paris World's exhibition using Peanut Oil.

Greenearth Biodiesel is made from waste vegetable oil collected from chip shops, restaurants and catering companies. This waste oil is converted into a petrodiesel-compatible fuel using a process known as Transesterification. Biodiesel fits seamlessly into existing diesel fuel distribution systems and can be used in all modern diesel engines and oil-fired heating systems. Pure biodiesel, like the stuff we make is known as B100, but can be blended with conventional diesel in varying amounts, usually between 5% and 30%. GREENEARTH BIODIESEL - is biodegradable - is made from only waste vegetable oils and is the only road fuel available in this country to be acknowledged by Friends of the Earth as being carbon neutral. - is less toxic than table salt and as biodegradable as sugar - produces around 78% less CO2 emissions than normal diesel - has excellent lubricating properties which help reduce fuel system and engine wear - is cheaper than normal diesel So, are there any downsides of this fantastic fuel? Only two that we could think of: - It has a use by date, although we use an additive to keep it fresh, generally we would not recommend storage of longer than 16 weeks. With careful planning based upon your usage, this problem is easily resolved. - It makes some car manufacturers nervous, this is primarily due to a lot of poor quality fuel that has been produced in this country. If your vehicle is still under warranty then please contact us before using biodiesel. Greenearth Biodiesel offers a fuel for the future. Kind to the planet, genuinely recycled and a few pence cheaper.
